Homeless Shelter

I saw for the first time in Simcoe, a young woman with a grocery cart full of clothing and whatever, struggling to push it. It was obvious she had some kind of disability. My heart ached for her and wondered where she was going. It was like something you see in the city or in the movies but not in Simcoe. She was on the sidewalk next to Highway #3 heading towards the Superstore with heavy traffic at that intersection. It made me feel shamed that I did not stop to help her but neither did anyone else. Should I have called the police to check on her and if they did where would they take her. Could Norfolk County set an example to other jurisdictions and provide clean safe housing for those unfortunate people. What about buying a local motel or turning the old Zellers Store into apartments

Years ago we used to have YWCA or YMCA for low rent and meals etc. There will always be those mentally challenged in every community but we need to support them.
