Norfolk County is excited to launch the 2025 Free Tree Giveaway as part of Earth Week celebrations! Residents will have a chance to receive one of 350 native trees to plant and enjoy on their property.

This year, we’re offering trees through a random draw to ensure all residents have an opportunity to participate. To maximize your chances, register for the tree species that best fits your property and planting conditions. Limit of one tree per household. Successful applicants will be notified by email after the draw, which closes Wednesday, April 23.

Residents are reminded to contact OntarioOneCall.ca before digging to ensure the safety of underground utilities.

Please note that trees must be picked up on Saturday, April 26.

Who can enter?

To enter for a chance to receive a free tree, participants must be Norfolk County residents and commit to planting the tree on private property within Norfolk County, with permission from the property owner.

Why Plant a Tree?

Trees do more than beautify your yard. They:

  • Provide shade, reduce energy costs, and improve comfort

  • Absorb rainwater to reduce the risk of flooding

  • Support birds, insects, and other wildlife

  • Clean the air and help reduce the impacts of climate change

  • Boost property values and promote mental well-being

Protecting and expanding Norfolk County’s tree canopy is an important part of building a healthy, climate-resilient community.
